Tough day
I had a couple of big losses today. I was eating a Yoplait Light blueberry yogurt as part of my lunch. I was at my desk while eating and I must say, today's yogurt was pretty satisfying. I was almost done and was starting to speed up my eating in hopes of devouring the yogurt as soon as possible. In my haste, I dropped what may have been the biggest blueberry in the entire yogurt. There it sat on my desk covered with just the tiniest bit of yogurt. Of course I could not pick it up and eat it at that point, it was just too late. I mourned the blueberry for the appropriate time then promptly dominated the rest of the yogurt.
The next step of my meal was a tasty Smores flavored Quaker Oats granola bar. Halfway through, I bit into the bar and it just didn't feel right. A split second later I realized my feeling was right: a chunk had come loose and dribbled on to the ground. This was no ordinary chunk... no. The chunk was full of a huge piece of marshmallow and two chocolate chips.
Such a day really makes you think. You can't just go through life throwing food into your mouth like its nothing. You have to treasure each bite for what it's worth because you never know if you are going to miss your next bite. Maybe that's why I eat so slow all the time. These minor slip ups are just too taxing. It just isn't worth it in the end.
I hope you guys can learn from this experience and just take your time eating and savor every bite like you are eating the finest meats and cheeses in the king's court.
